Glenn Farello will be entering his 20th year as head coach at PVI and 29th overall in 2026-2027.


His teams have been ranked in the Top 20 in the DC Metro Area 22 times, including #1 in 2012, 2014, 2018, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 & 2026

 

His teams have been ranked in the Top 25 in the country for 19 seasons, and the 2012, 2014, 2018, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026 PVI teams finished ranked in the Top 10 nationally.

The 2023 team spent 8 weeks #1 in the nation and the 2024 and 2026 teams finished ranked #1 in MaxPreps!


Coach Farello has been named Coach of the Year 18 times. He has been named WCAC COY in 2012, 2018, 2019, 2024 & 2026 and VIS COY in 2009, 2012, 2014, 2018, 2020, 2022, 2023, 2024 & 2026.
For the 2025-2026 season, Coach Farello was named the Naismith National COY as well as MaxPreps National COY.

His overall record stands at 651-224 entering the 2026-2027 season and 157-21 in the last 5 with an 81-4 record in WCAC games.

         George Mason, Fairfield, Navy, Hofstra, Nebraska, Butler, Villanova, Towson, Bryant, Duke, North Carolina, Maryland, K St, UConn, Memphis, Delaware, Cincinnati, JMU, Notre Dame and Merrimack.

Panthers in the Community:
PVI basketball staff, coaches and players are highly visible in the community - participating in Special Olympics, PVI Options Program, Northern Cheyenne Indian basketball clinics, hosting summer camps and fund raising activities for local charities.
